For your heart will always be where your riches are.
Did you know that your heart goes where your treasure is and not the other way round?
We are attached to things because we have put our treasure in them and therefore our hearts have gone to those things. Imagine your child joins a certain university, you will find yourself interested in the things happening at that university. This is simply because your treasure (child) is there and so your heart will go there.
If you want to increase your love for the things of God, then start giving towards God’s work. Pay your tithe and offerings consistently and cheerfully. Then, you will see your heart going towards the people of God, His church.
God’s heart beats for his people, therefore when you practice random acts of kindness your heart will be drawn more to people. The other ways your heart can be drawn more to people are funding a cause and helping needy people.
Remember to put your treasure in good things so that your heart is attached to the right things. When you give it creates in you a sense that you are capable of making a difference in the world. We need to make an intentional decision of where our treasure (riches) will go.
