The benefits of the Lord

Psalm 103: 1 – 5 with notes.

I like the book of Psalms for it shows different seasons of a believer’s life. It consists of good and bad experiences that we all go through in life. David always wrote psalms and here he wrote;

Bless the Lord, O my soul; have a strong affection for God and a sense of gratitude, understand and appreciate His favours. You have to make a decision to love God and have a thankful attitude towards Him. And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Let my heart, will, affections and emotions praise and adore God. Let your whole being offer words of worship to God.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Remember the favours of the Lord, bring to remembrance the works, acts, and doings of the Lord. Always bring to mind, to your imagination all the things God has done for you. This will generate energy in you and you will burst out praising God for His faithfulness. The divine dealings of the Lord create a foundation for praise.

Who forgives all your iniquities, it is a characteristic of God to pardon sin and this is ground for praise. Forgiveness of sin is the first thing that calls for praise. Forgiveness of sin is evidence that God is a merciful God. Who heals all your diseases, God restores you to health from all forms of sicknesses. Healing virtue comes from God alone. God heals you completely; spirit, soul and body.

Who redeems your life from destruction, God saves our lives from death when exposed to danger or disease, Who crowns you with lovingkindness, He beautifies us, dignifies us and honours us and tender mercies, God’s lovingkindness and tender mercies are so abundant toward us.

Who satisfies your mouth with good things, your soul/youth So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Even in old age, God’s bountiful dealing with you will make you young again. God meets all your need all the days of your life.

Bless the Lord.
