REPONSES – PART TWO

The word responsibility has two words in it, response and ability. Responsibility means that you have the ability to respond well to any event that occurs in your world.

Like I said in the previous blog, all life is stimuli and response. It is so easy to respond wrongly to an event. It takes time and practice to respond appropriately to events.

I believe that your response depends on what you have stored up in your heart. Matthew 12:35 says “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”

So, what are you hearing? For as we hear we get. When you hear what the world is saying, you are storing up evil treasure but when you hear the Word of God by reading the Bible, talking with God, listening to sermons daily and doing other spiritual things you are storing up good treasure.

Whatever you have stored up will affect how you respond during any event in your life.

I am confident to say that; I have read the Bible ever since I was a little boy. I have stored up a lot of good treasure and I am still storing up more. I can say that nothing scares me in this life. I am confident that God is with me at all times and that His promises towards me shall happen in my life-time. Therefore, my responses to events are usually different because I know what most people don’t. I know the will of my Father God, His Word.

Learn how to respond well to any event by cultivating the habit of praying every day and storing up good treasure in your heart by reading the Bible daily.

Jim Rohn said “You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself”

You can change yourself means that you can train yourself how to respond to any event in your world.

You know some people give up their power and say that someone caused them to do something. They don’t want to own up their actions. Why? because it is so easy to blame something outside ourselves for the parts of our life we don’t like.

It hurts to know that it is you who creates the results you produce. Every result I have in my life right now is because of what I have chosen to do. So I need to give up all excuses.

I always tell some people to spare time and read the Bible, but some say that they will read when they feel comfortable, or read when they get a chance. They don’t know that they need to push themselves and be intentional. And when the events of life come, they are not able to respond to them appropriately as they could have because they are Word of God empty.

George Washington Carver said “99% of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses.” You will fail at making the right response if you don’t fill yourself with the right stuff. There is a formula; Event + Response = Outcome. In this formula, you only have one thing you can do, that is, to respond well. When you respond well, the outcomes will be great and when you don’t respond well, the outcomes won’t be great.

Your response to the events of life will either move you forward or backward. If you don’t like your outcomes, change your responses. Insanity is doing what you have always done, and expecting a different result. Try out new things. Try out the Word of God. Every action is under your control, act in ways that produce more of what you want. Don’t leave anything to chance.
